“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because he has anointed Me,
To preach the Gospel to the poor; He sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives And recover of the sight to the blind,
To set a liberty those who are oppressed;
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord”
( Luke 4:18,19 )
A man after God's own heart
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
( Matthew 5:8 )
Recommended reading:
( I Samuel 16:
1 - 13 )
So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said,
"Surely the Lord's anointed is before Him!"
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his
physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man
sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
( 1 Samuel 16:6,7 )
I'm going to share part of my personal testimony in regards to this particular scripture. This story has to do with finding God's choosing for a wife.
As a young man, my heart was not open to another soul in anyway, especially in an intimate relationship. I couldn't find in myself to trust God in this area. One day after work God gave me a vision. In the vision I saw a short Italian looking young lady in a wedding dress standing in front of the Bible school I was attending at the time, but on summer break. God spoke in vision and said she was to be my wife and was coming to school next year. He said I would recognize her when I saw her.
The vision was true. I saw her as I came back to school from summer break.. But,oh no! .. She was backslidden! Long story short, doubt came in and I set my eyes on someone else who looked similar to her. But lo another vision of the night..
In this second vision my roommate and I were sitting in a church service. He was in the front row and I was in the back. (At the time of the vision both of us had our eyes on other young ladies, different than God's choice for us.) In the vision the preacher started pointing his finger at my roommate and shouting “Are you looking at someone else? Are you looking at what's on the outward and not what's on the inside?” I started laughing because I knew it was true! I was back there thinking how I was going to pick on him when we got back to our room. But than the preacher pointed his finger right at me from about 30 ft away and shouted the same thing! I really thought this happened, I was shocked to find myself in my bed when I came out of it.
The next morning I told my roommate what happened and, as God as my witness, he fell back on his bed and yelled ooh! We are still very good friends and happily married.
We
didn't have “eyes to see” as intended but let's just say
God corrected our vision!
As we look into
scripture we see God specializes in choosing those who otherwise would
be
discarded looking
as man would see. I have in my short time hear on earth
found this one thing about God. You cannot touch what does
not belong to you without consequence. (Please read I Corinthians
1:26-30) I going to make you work for your revelation, Is that all
right?
Just to update the reader: My Wife is the most
gracious, loving person!! I'm so thankful the Lord showed
me how I had judged her as being unfit and not seeing the gem of
a heart before me! To date we have 17 wonderful years of marriage
and 5 beautiful children!!
"Eyes to see"... Saints this so simple, How do
we miss it? Jesus spelled it out very plainly in Matthew's
Gospel. ( Relax I'll give you this one )
"Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God."
( Matthew 5:8 )
To be able to see the Hand of God working in your life and others!!
What amazing gift. Do remember groping around in darkness having
no direction or knowledge of a divine purpose in life. I
remember
my days being lost and confused. Maybe your there..my heart goes
out to you. Jesus came to give us sight! In reality
having one's spiritual eyes opened is more a byproduct of His greatest
work!!! When Jesus moves into a life He gives us a new
heart! Who were you before Jesus came into your
heart? Tell us! We want to rejoice with you in God
has done! Your testimony has the power to change a soul for
eternity!!
Ok now let's bring the balance...
Let's call our balance "The Heart Maintance
Schedule"
Father we pray the Spirit of Revelation would visit whoever reads
this. Lord We ask You would grant them a greater understanding of
You and Your ways! Lord reveal yourself to them in creation.
Father reveal yourself to them in your word. Reveal
yourself to them in their relationships. Lord as you move
and occupy more of us open up our eyes to see You in all your
Splender!! Lord, in all your wonder! Oh God we pray Lord
You would cleanse us and remove every wicked way from us. Lord we
need You to come into our hearts with fresh fire! God we need you
to anoint our eyes again to see! Father I pray your Spirit would
move mightly upon whoever reads this and Lord they would be impregnated
in their heart with truth, never to be the same again!! Father we
ask these things in mighty Name of Your Son Jesus!!
Amen
As The word of God says:
...that
the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to
you the
spirit
of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
the
eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what
is the
hope
of His calling, what
are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,...
(
Ephesians 1:17, 18 )
Your
testimony can make a difference!! It is a portion of the glory
of God's given to you! Maybe its the revelation of one
scripture which caused you to see God as He really is....Maybe it is
a expression of God seen in creation for your eyes to behold!
Maybe its His wisdom in a difficult, trying situation. Share
with us what God has given your 'eyes to see.'
Maybe
heaven is silent for you and hope is wanning..Maybe God has taken you
to a knew place...Share with us what God has done..
This
1st entry is given to us by a good friend who has gone through many
trying situations recently. He has a passion for
capturing the wonders of God's creation on film.
